What happened
Discord said attackers breached a third-party customer service provider in September 2025 and accessed data on users who had contacted its support or Trust & Safety teams. About 70,000 users may have had government ID photos exposed from age-verification appeals; others had names, usernames, emails, support messages, IP addresses and the last four digits of payment cards exposed. Discord said full card numbers and passwords were not involved and disputed the hackers' much larger claims.
What should I do?
- Treat emails, texts and calls that mention Discord, Nitro or account bans as suspect; don't click links or share codes, and contact the company through its official app or website.
- Change your Discord password and any other account that uses the same password, and turn on two-step verification.
- If your ID photo was exposed, watch for identity misuse and contact the ID's issuer about a replacement if you see any.
