What happened

Casinos Austria emailed customers that attackers accessed the systems of an external provider behind its online gift voucher shop between November 2 and 5, 2026, and that it must assume shop customer data was taken. About 150,000 customers are affected. The company says names, email addresses, orders and voucher codes may be involved, and Kosmo reports dates of birth, home addresses and phone numbers may be too; bank and credit card details are not stored in the shop and were not affected. The gap has been closed and Austria's data protection authority has been informed.

What should I do?

  1. Treat emails, texts and calls that mention your Casinos Austria voucher or order as suspect, and don't click links or open attachments in messages you didn't expect.
  2. Never give passwords or card details to anyone claiming to be from Casinos Austria; contact the company through its official website instead.
  3. If you still hold unused voucher codes, check with Casinos Austria that they are still valid and redeem them soon.
  4. Watch for invoices, reminders or delivery notices for orders you never placed, which could signal someone is using your name and address.
