What happened

104 Corporation, which runs Taiwan's 104 Job Bank recruitment site, said in a material-information filing on the evening of October 6, 2026 that it detected abnormal reads in its app system and confirmed that about 120,000 resumes were read without authorization. It said it blocked the activity, brought in an outside forensic firm, would report to regulators and filed a complaint with the Investigation Bureau's Taipei office. The company has not said which resume fields were read, how the access happened or how many people are affected, and says its systems and operations are running normally. 104 says it has emailed members who may be affected.

What should I do?

  1. Be careful with calls or messages from people claiming to be 104 or an employer, even if they know details from your resume such as past jobs or the position you applied for.
  2. 104 says its official text messages come from the short codes 66104 and 67104; treat texts about 104 from other numbers as suspect.
  3. Don't click links in emails about the incident; open the 104 app or website yourself, or call 104 customer service.
  4. Don't send ID numbers, bank details or payments to anyone offering a job through an unexpected contact.
